Abstract
This study was conducted to provide basic data on activation of medical tourism for the elderly by investigating factors influencing their intention to go on medical tours through a questionnaire survey from 16 to 21 September, 2009. The results were as follows. 1. The subjects with intention to use medical tourism were more than those without it by recording 84.9% and 15.1%, respectively, and characteristics showing a statistically significant difference were age (p<0.001), health condition (p<0.05) and economic status (p<0.05). In other words, younger seniors with better health condition and higher economic status had more intention to go on medical tours. 2.
